Petroleum oil

Petroleum oil

This composition is available in the market under the brand name Volck oil (Volck L 80%). Its degree of sulfonation is 92%. This combination is used to control many pests in agriculture. Volk oil kills insects, mites and their eggs by contact. Petroleum oil's insecticidal action is basically physical, but it may also be chemical. This physical effect can be justified as suffocating the insect. Because petroleum oil closes the insect's respiratory valves, restricting their access to oxygen, as a result, the gas exchange required for metabolic processes and finally causes the death of the insect (suffocation occurs within 24 hours) It can prevent mobile shielded nymphs from sticking to the plant tissue.

Mode of action: insecticide and acaricide with ovulatory effect

Chemical group: IRAC=NC

Danger class: no acute toxicity (U)

Toxicity degree: Oral LD50 for rate > 15000 mg/kg

Amount of effective substance: 800 grams/kg

Carnes period: The interval between the last spraying of oil and the harvesting of the crop is 3 to 4 weeks.

Application management (compatibility and mixing): Never use oil without water, and at least one month's time must be observed between the use of emulsifying oil and sulfur poisons. Avoid mixing emulsifying oil with fungicide. Avoid spraying oil when the air temperature is -1°C or there is a possibility of frost at night. If the plant is under stress conditions (diseases and pests, low humidity, constant wind blowing, prolonged drought) or is weakened for any reason, the use of oil full will intensify this stress.
