Date as the most significant fruit of middle eastian dry regions is tolerant against saltiness and alkalinity. Traditionally, it is believed that palm trees do not need fertilizers. The reason of this idea could come from that palm tree have a bulky root system which can go 3-7 meters down to the soil. Although this huge root system can protect palm tree against unfavorable conditions, it is should be considered that the plant consumes high values of micro and macro elements, and suitable nourishment would result in high quality fruit production. Nutrient requirement of palm is similar to other plants. It needs nitrogen for vegetative growth and photosynthesis, phosphorous for root development and flowering, potassium for adjusting stomata posture, tolerance to abiotic stresses and increasing fruit quality, boron for pollination, flower formation, cell division, carbohydrates transportation and regulation of calcium absorption. The presence of other essential elements such as sulfur, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, molybdenum and chlorine in suitable amount are necessary for growth and fertility of palm.

Notes:
- Foliar application should be sprayed in the cooler morning or evening hours.
- It should be performed a jar test to determine the compatibility of the present fertilizer with other fertilizers and pesticides before mixing and it can be used widely after confidence the physical compatibility in a small area of the farm.
